If you are an experienced project manager accountable for all the phases of project delivery, leading and managing cross-functional teams, then PMP is the best option for you. But getting PMP certification is not as easy as taking an exam. You will need training and real-world project management experience to show you have what it requires to be a PMP.

There is a lot to understand in project management, and you will need to ace the practical applications of the information. To master the PMP exam content, you need to have the right combination of dedication, mentorship and effort.

PMP certification requirements vary depending on your level of education. If you graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree, you may qualify for the PMP exam with less experience of project management experience.

PMP exam Eligibility Criteria

To take the PMP exam, you must meet three PMI eligibility criteria. These are listed as follows

  2. Experience
  3. Training

Let’s analyze each of these requirements in detail.

1. Education

Having the right education is the first criteria you need to consider for OMO examination eligibility. The project manager must have the ability to read and prepare a report, make plans and understand new concepts to make informed decisions.

You must have a bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma. It can be in any discipline and from any university, be it distance education or a regular degree. Any degree; arts, science medicine, mathematics, architecture, business, technology, engineering, computer science, etc. is all good.

2. Experience

You must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least three years of experience in project management. The three years of experience should include 4,500 hours of project management and leadership and 35 hours of project management training. In case you have not completed a four-year degree, you must have a high school diploma with at least 5 years of project management experience. The five years of experience should include the 7,500 hours spent leading and leading projects and teaching project management of approximately 5 hours.

3. Training

This is the last eligibility condition. You must attend 35 hours of formal face-to-face project management training. This training can be obtained from a PMI Registered Education Provider (REP) or a non-REP provider. If you have an active CAPM certification, the project management training requirements will not apply. The project management training will provide you with theoretical knowledge of all tools and techniques so that you can apply them to your projects.

A project manager is a certified position; You have to be responsible for your actions. You must understand your responsibility and concern and must have management and leadership skills. These qualities are essential to complete the project with the fewest obstacles.

The PMP certification exam comes with a few costs. And you will save morea if you become a PMI member, especially if you plan to maintain and renew your PMP certification on an ongoing basis.
